FAIR CEO Blasts Kaiser Foundation & Public Agenda HIV/AIDS Study Results as "Absolute Nonsense"
Date:7/14/2009

Health and Human Services HOPWA program (Housing Opportunities for Patients with AIDS)? Clearly not."

"When our organization exhibits throughout America at large conventions a new member joins FAIR, on average, every 1.5 minutes for 7 hours expressing anger and disgust at the favoritism afforded HIV/AIDS in funding in comparison to the funding being received for their disease."

FAIR points out that in addition to the exorbitant federal funding, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has spent approximately $7 billion on global HIV, TB & malaria efforts and billions of additional dollars have been spent on behalf of HIV patients by the collective efforts of pharmaceutical companies, Hollywood AIDS activists and non-profit organizations such as amfAR (American Federation for AIDS Research).

Darling contends that few citizens interviewed would have chosen to spend more money on HIV disease had Kaiser and Public Agenda informed their subjects of these facts and quoted America's top HIV researcher and the man who oversees the $2.9 billion HIV budget, Anthony Fauci, MD, who stated on CNN, "...the scientific advancements that have been made in HIV (research) are breathtaking (with) highly effective drugs to suppress HIV to the point where what was a death sentence in the early eighties to now having patients who look and feel well, who are leading very productive, very gratifying lives..." Darling adds, "Public Agenda's conclusion that there has never been a serious effort to combat the disease is absurd and a clear insult to Dr. Fauci's successful work and to Congress which funds billions in HIV expenditures annually."

Fauci's statements are verified by the fact that HIV/AIDS deaths have plummeted
