Designed to Help Employers and Business Owners Plan for Pandemic Impact
PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa., May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Health Advocate, Inc. is hosting two free webinars on May 19, 2009 to help employers prepare for a possible H1N1 flu pandemic. Following the webinar Health Advocate will release a special Pandemic Planning Worksite Checklist summarizing steps for employers to take.
Two experts - Amy Fuchs, MD, an infectious disease authority, and Nancy Hatch Woodward, a business communications writer and commentator, will present the latest information about worksite preparedness for a pandemic.
Participants will learn the latest CDC information, education, communication strategies, practical steps to protect employees, and human resource and legal issues. The goal is to help employers avoid, or at least mitigate, problems that may arise during the current flu crisis.
"The threat of a pandemic possibly crippling entire businesses is real," says Abbie Leibowitz, M.D., F.A.A.P., Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer and Cofounder of Health Advocate. "Pandemics come in waves, each lasting anywhere from four to twelve weeks, continuing up to two years. The first wave could infect 20-30 percent of the population. Businesses need plans in place to protect themselves."
