'Excuse Me, Your Life Is Waiting!': A Bridge from Addiction to Early Recovery

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert Boich had everything he wanted in life -- a great wife, children and successful career. To outsiders, he seemed to be living a picture-perfect life; however, there was a dark side few knew. Boich had transformed from an excessive-drinking, recreational drug-abuser into a full-blown addict. His first book, "Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting!" (published by iUniverse) chronicles his road to sobriety and the steps he took to reclaim control of his life before he lost everything he had worked so hard to achieve.

Boich's story began as a journal during his first six months of recovery and evolved into much more than a narrative. A counselor once told Boich, "An addict only has to change one thing: everything." "Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting!" describes the methods Boich undertook to alter his lifestyle. This transition to sobriety depicts many cornerstones and rules he used to piece his life together.

The author turned his life experiences into tools that can be used in an addict's early recovery. The decision to overcome addiction is only the first step in a long, difficult process. Boich makes it clear that sobriety is more than simply refraining from partaking -- it is a lifestyle change. In addition to eliminating certain people and places from his daily routine, Boich found it necessary to develop a new approach to life.

"Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting!" is an inspirational book for anyone. Whether it's a guilty pleasure, a bad decision or an addiction, people have room for improvement in their lives. Boich's lessons can be applied to everyday life.

"Any alcoholic or addict who reads this book can identify with where I was and what I had gone through," said Boich. "Likewise, if they have a desire to turn their lives around, many of the topics I discuss will be familiar to them, either from rehab facilities or 12 step programs."
