WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- "Every Baby Has a Story," a grassroots and integrated media project celebrating babies -- those born healthy as well as those who need help to survive and thrive -- has been launched by the March of Dimes.
"This storytelling project lets proud parents all over the country tell a special story about the baby they know and love," said Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes. "Families can also express their hopes and dreams for a baby who has struggled to survive."
A traveling "Every Baby Story Tour" motor coach will crisscross the nation beginning today on a 16-city, 28-day road trip, collecting memorable, inspiring, and humorous baby stories.
The tour begins in New York City and travels to Washington, D.C., Greenville, SC; Tuscaloosa, AL; Atlanta; Nashville; Memphis, Houston; Phoenix; Los Angeles; Denver; Kansas City, MO; St. Louis; Chicago; Indianapolis; and Philadelphia, before concluding November 13 in Times Square in New York City for Prematurity Awareness Day.
Celebrities who have contributed stories include "The Wonder Years" Fred Savage; Julie Bowen from "Boston Legal," and "Ed"; Melissa Joan Hart of "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch"; "Entourage's" Constance Zimmer; Kellie Martin from "Life Goes On" and "ER"; Jodie Sweetin, from "Full House"; Diane Farr and Alimi Ballard from "Numbers."
The web site, marchofdimes.com/everybaby, powered by Scrapblog.com, allows people who can't visit the motor coach to add stories, photos, text or video via an interactive scrapbook page. The site features a United States map where the baby stories can be viewed.
Tour sponsors include Farmer's Insurance, which will donate $20 for
stories told on the motor coach; Shutterfly.com, which is offering a free
poster-sized print to anyone who donates $20 or more to the campaign. Motor
Coach Industries, which donated a new motor coach; Trailways Transportation
