European Patent Office Upholds Verathon's IP Against Aircraft Medical Challenge

BOTHELL, Wash., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Verathon Medical(R), the global leader in the development and marketing of the GlideScope(R) video laryngoscope, is pleased to announce that the European Patent Office has upheld its intellectual property right -- European Patent 1307131 B1 -- against a challenge by Scottish competitor Aircraft Medical Ltd. This patent protects Verathon's invention of its innovative, clinically proven GlideScope(R) video laryngoscope.

In a related action, Verathon's wholly-owned subsidiary, Verathon Medical (Canada) ULC has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Aircraft Medical Ltd. seeking an injunction and 37,000,000 pounds in damages.
