EurekaMag.com has newly published 63,871 references on the basic and applied animal sciences. These references contain 30,961 new summaries and are included in the site's Research Category which covers the science of multicellular organisms belonging to the kingdom Animalia. All animals are eukaryotes, with each of their cells having a nucleus containing DNA. Being heterotrophs, animals feed on plants, other animals, or organic matter for which they have a digestive tract. Their nervous system and specialized sensory organs enables animals to recognizing and responding to stimuli in the environment. These new references and summaries are included in the Life, Earth and Health Sciences Research Section 38. In addition, the Life, Earth and Health Sciences Research Section 10 has been updated with several hundred references on molecular cloning which is the process of creating a copy of a biological unit such as a DNA sequence, cell, or organism by way of biotechnology.
