Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk for Women Celebrates 11 Years in New York City on Saturday, May 3

esearch, contributing to the development of the breakthrough gene treatment Herceptin(R) as well as other targeted therapies, bringing new and innovative treatment approaches to women's cancers worldwide. Monies raised have also helped numerous organizations in providing education, advocacy and outreach services to those affected by women's cancers.

2008 New York event beneficiaries include: The Actors' Fund -- Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative, Cancer Control Center of Harlem, CancerCare, Columbia University Breast Cancer Screening Partnership of NY -- Presbyterian Hospital, Gilda's Club New York City, Gouveneur Diagnostic and Treatment Center; Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening and Early Detection Program, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Montefiore-Einstein Cancer Center, Nassau University Medical Center, The William F. Ryan Community Health Network, National Breast Cancer Coalition, National Women's Cancer Research Alliance (NWCRA), New York University School of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology, Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers of New York and YWCA of Brooklyn Sister Strength Program.

"It is hard to put into words the incredible level of support we receive each year for this event," says Lilly Tartikoff, co-founder of the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women and co-founder of the Revlon/UCLA Women's Cancer Research Program. "I wish I could personally thank every person that has contributed to helping us move closer to a cure because without them we wouldn't be where we are today. Every single person that joins us in the Run/Walk is truly a gift."
