Hartman Foundation for Parkinson's Research Recognizes All My Children star for her work on behalf of Parkinson's research

East Islip, NY (PRWEB) April 24, 2010 -- The Thomas Hartman Foundation for Parkinson's Research will celebrate the work of scientists, a philanthropist, a corporation and a person afflicted by the disease who have come together to find a cure at the 7th Annual Cure for Sure Dinner on June 22.

The dinner, held at the Crest Hollow Country Club, will honor Emmy-award winning actress Susan Lucci, recipient of the Hartman Philanthropic Leadership Award. The Hartman Corporation of the Year Honoree is Joseph R. Ficalora, Chairman, President and CEO of New York Community Bancorp, Inc. Louis DeCaro will receive Father Tom's Spirit Award, given to a person affected by Parkinson's who has contributed to the public awareness of the disease.

Additionally, the dinner will recognize the work and achievements of ten scientists who have received grants from the Hartman Foundation for their work. The 2009 grant recipients are:
