Emerald Ash Borer Beetle to Destroy Trees, Uncle Matty's Tree Service Prepares
Date:6/26/2012

Kearny, NJ (PRWEB) June 26, 2012

Uncle Matty's Tree Service will be preparing for an increase in tree removal service requests this summer as a dangerous species of beetle is in the process of moving toward New Jersey.

According to The Record, this dangerous beetle will be arriving as early as this summer. The beetle, which has killed more than 50 million trees in the United States, is known as the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) beetle. It is originally from Asia, but it has most likely migrated to the United States through trade, in shipping crates and other packing materials.

The EAB is destructive to northern white ash trees, which are trees that are prominent in northeast New Jersey. The larvae of the EAB are the cause of the most damage to the white ash trees, because they will feed on the inner bark of the tree, which disrupts its ability to transport water and nutrients. The adult EAB feed on ash foliage.

Insect-infested trees or dead or hazardous trees are two reasons why people may require a tree removal service or ab emergency tree removal service. Uncle Matty's Tree Service can provide people with that service. A tree expert from Uncle Matty's will assess the damage of the tree to determine if it should be removed. The trees that the EAB are nesting in are marked by jagged holes that will appear in the bark, because woodpeckers feed on the EAB. The tree trunk will also have D-shaped holes and vertically split bark. When the bark is removed, S-shaped feeding galleries for larvae will be exposed. Multiple occurrences of the EAB returning to the same tree will result in a browning of the crown of the tree.

Uncle Matty's Tree Service can provide the necessary resources to alleviate the impact of the EAB and try to rectify it as best as possible. If a tree has any of the signs of being infested by the EAB, a tree expert should be contacted. For more information on the services provided by Uncle Matty's Tree Service, visit our website or call today at 201-438-8344.
