Emdeon Assistant Earns HFMA's Peer Review Designation
Date:6/23/2008

Passes Rigorous Review of Pertinent Performance Indicators

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Emdeon Business Services, a leading provider of revenue cycle management and clinical communication solutions, announced today that its Emdeon Assistant patient access solution has earned the Peer Reviewed designation of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

HFMA's intensive Peer Review evaluation process requires independent HFMA staff and expert industry volunteers to analyze products or services based on a range of key performance criteria as established by HFMA. All products presented for assessment must meet predetermined standards in areas such as product effectiveness, quality, overall value and customer support to earn the Peer Reviewed designation.

Emdeon Assistant is used primarily by institutional providers -- hospitals and healthcare systems -- to simplify patient registration with insurance eligibility and benefits verifications obtained through real-time payer connectivity. Emdeon Assistant provides automatic, expedient access to necessary patient information such as insurance eligibility, address verification, credit score, match to charity policy as well as claim status. Emdeon Assistant employs Emdeon's Smart Search(SM) technology, as well as customizable automation, to enable hospitals to streamline patient access, thus saving time and money.

The HFMA Peer Review designation provides legitimizing acknowledgement from a respected trade organization. As Emdeon seeks to simplify the business of healthcare, this designation offers validation from third party sources to support Emdeon Assistant's key features and benefits.

Emdeon customer Carol Plato Nicosia of Martin Memorial Health Systems in Florida concurs with the HFMA Peer Reviewed findings. "Emdeon Assistant really helped us to automate our workflows and instantly retrieves critical patient registration information," Ms. Nicosia stat
