Elsevier announces new partnership with CCS to publish the Canadian Journal of Cardiology

Ottawa, ON, Canada, 2 November, 20 10 Elsevier, a world-leading publisher of scientific, technical, and medical information products and services, is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Canadian Cardiovascular Society and the January 2011 publication of the Canadian Journal of Cardiology, an established journal in the field of cardiovascular medicine.

Under the guidance of Editor-in-Chief Stanley Nattel, MD, FRSC, FRCPC, FACC, FHRS, Paul-David Chair in Cardiovascular Electrophysiology and Professor of Medicine at the University of Montreal and Director of the Electrophysiology Research Program at the Montreal Heart Institute Research Center, and a renowned Editorial Board, this internationally recognized journal publishes peer-review material pertinent to specialists, general practitioners, and cardiovascular scientists and addresses all aspects of cardiovascular medicine.

The Canadian Journal of Cardiology is the official journal of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society. It is a vehicle for the international dissemination of new knowledge in cardiology and cardiovascular science, particularly serving as a major venue for the results of Canadian cardiovascular research and Society guidelines. The Journal publishes original reports of clinical and basic research relevant to cardiovascular medicine as well as editorials, review articles, case reports, and papers on health outcomes, policy research, ethics, medical history, and political issues affecting practice.

"The Canadian Journal of Cardiology has been at the forefront in publishing clinical reports and research relevant to cardiovascular medicine for many years," comments Dr. Nattel, "we are confident that partnering with Elsevier will further our reach and impact in international cardiovascular circles. This is an exciting time for the CJC."

"The Canadian Journal of Cardiology has been and will continue to be the voice of our Society," says CCS President Charles Kerr. The Journal is a key benefit of Society membership. It serves as a vehicle of communication that reinforces the strength of not only the CCS, but the cardiovascular specialty as a whole."

The Canadian Journal of Cardiology will serve as a vehicle to enhance the dissemination of medical knowledge that will benefit people with cardiovascular disease.
