Philadelphia, PA, November 19, 2008 Elsevier, a world-leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, is pleased to announce the January 2009 launch of a new medical journal in partnership with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation -- PM&R, The journal of injury, function and rehabilitation (www.pmrjournal.org).
Under the guidance of Editor-in-Chief Stuart M. Weinstein, MD, Clinical Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle, and an internationally renowned Editorial Board, this monthly, peer-reviewed, scholarly publication has a clinical focus, presenting a balance of topics matching the practice needs of the Academy membership and other related medical disciplines, as well as a wider international readership.
The "Purple Journal" (as it will be colloquially branded) is designed to advance education and impact the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation through the timely delivery of clinically relevant and evidence-based research and review information. Coverage includes acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders and pain, neurologic conditions involving the central and peripheral nervous systems, rehabilitation of impairments associated with disabilities in adults and children, and neurophysiology and electrodiagnosis.
