Elpac Power System 150-Watt Commercial External Power Supply Features Industry-Leading Efficiency and Power Density
Date:2/19/2009

CHICAGO, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- International Components Corporation (ICC), an established global leader in designing and manufacturing portable rechargeable systems, today launched a new series of high-efficiency AC-DC external power adapters benefiting a broad range of feature-rich electronic devices. Marketed under the Elpac Power Systems brand, the FWA150 is the latest addition to the company's rapidly expanding portfolio of high-efficiency, high-reliability power adapters. The new 150-watt series delivers an industry-leading converter efficiency of up to 94% and best-in-class power density of 5.5 watts per cubic inch.

Expanding upon the commercial success of the FWB100, the FWA150 series is also designed for high-reliability applications that demand performance in a higher wattage. Much like the FWB100 series, the highly efficient FWA150 minimizes internal heat dissipation resulting in twice the lifetime expectation and lower operating costs. Full-rated continuous and peak power is available at all output voltages and over the entire input voltage and frequency range.

The power supply has a universal AC input (85 - 264 VAC) with active PFC to meet EN61000-3-2, -3 and single outputs of 12, 15, 18, or 24 VDC. It is offered in a compact frame of 191.98 x 62.16 x 38.65mm (7.56 x 2.45 x 1.52 inches) that is convection cooled and needs no internal fan. This unit also includes over-temperature, over-voltage, and over-current protection as standard features with maximum noise and ripple limited to less than 1% peak-to-peak. All backed by an industry-leading 5-year limited warranty.

The FWA150 series features an Energy Star Level V efficiency rating with more than 90% efficiency in active mode and a no-load power consumption of less than 0.4W. This series also meets CE, EN, and IEC standards and can be designed to meet non-standard output voltage and connectivity requirements. ICC can also design a 100% custom solution to meet specific OEM requirements and private label markings.

The FWA150 is competitively priced at $61.96 in OEM quantities of 1,000 and models are available to ship today. Full warranty policy and datasheets with complete technical specifications for the FWA150 and FWB100 series can be found 24/7 at http://www.iccus.com.
