'Eli Lilly-Children International' Launches Teen Campaign to Reduce TB Cases in India

The success rate of government control programs in West Bengal is 84.1 %, which is slightly lower than the national average with nearly 7% of patients defaulting in the DOTS program. The number of registered TB patients in WB is more than 100,000 with more than 50,000 new cases added every year.

Speaking at the launch, Anurag Khera, Director Corporate Affairs Eli Lilly India said the role of youth in the campaign is particularly significant as the launch coincides with the World Youth Day Celebrations. "We believe youth are the best change-agents who can shape the community they live in especially when they are empowered to contribute meaningfully". The company is supporting the program under the aegis of 'Lilly MDR TB Partnership' aimed at a TB free India.
