Elderplan Opts for Care to Care's Radiology Network

NEW YORK, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Elderplan, a not-for-profit Medicare Advantage Organization with a Medicare contract, will provide diagnostic imaging services to its nearly 16,000 members through an exclusive agreement with Care to Care, LLC, a leading radiology benefit management (RBM) company.

In announcing the agreement, George Ingram, Elderplan Associate Vice President of Network Planning and Development, said "Elderplan members referred to diagnostic imaging by their primary physicians will now receive service at any of the radiological facilities in Care to Care's broad imaging network." Care to Care, which has the largest freestanding network of any RBM in the country, has approximately 250 network facilities in the New York City area.

"Care to Care's concern for positive patient outcomes and their careful credentialing and profiling of network providers help ensure that the diagnostic imaging our members receive will be medically appropriate and mindful of patient safety," said Dr. Michael Komarow, Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President at Care to Care.

"The standard of quality maintained throughout the Care to Care network should give Elderplan and its members confidence that they will receive the prescribed tests, performed the right way, with well-maintained and reliable equipment," said Barbara Kelman, Care to Care's Chief Operating Officer.

Added Kelman, "We are delighted that Elderplan has chosen to make our network locations available to its members, and we look forward to providing them with excellent and convenient service."
