Edward Hospital Statement Regarding Indictment of P. Nicholas Hurtgen
Date:12/13/2007

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- All of us at Edward are proud of CEO Pam Davis and Vice President Bill Kottmann for their role in helping federal authorities expose this corruption. Yet today's indictment of P. Nicholas Hurtgen is another reminder that it has been more than four years since Edward first filed an application with the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board to build a hospital in Plainfield. The people of Plainfield and surrounding areas are still waiting for approval of their hospital but have been blocked every step of the way -- because of past corruption at the Planning Board and because the Adventist, Provena, and Rush-Copley health systems continue to fight the proposed hospital.
