Educational First Steps Officially Inducts Five Pilot Child Care Centers into Four Steps to Excellence 2.0 Program

Through its newly launched Four Steps to Excellence 2.0 program, Educational First Steps is increasing benefits to children at a greater rate than ever before. Centers enrolled receive assistance through three levels of competency, supported by a structured, tailored mentoring process through EFS in the Community, training far beyond minimum standard requirements through EFS Academy, regular assessments by EFS quality assurance staff, heightened enrichment opportunities and developmentally appropriate materials and furnishings. The robust, streamlined program places centers on a 40 month path to national accreditation through the National Accreditation Commission of the Association for Early Learning Leaders or the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

The Four Steps to Excellence 2.0 program initiates child care centers into a four month "Evaluation" phase in order to intentionally and strategically determine the compatibility of the center with the EFS program. EFS is pleased to announce the official acceptance of five pilot centers that were inaugurated into the Evaluation phase in November. Upon successful completion of the initial stage of the program, 2nd Step Learning Center, Handprints Child Care, Little Rascals Child Development Center, Southern Crest Day Care and The Mother's Heart Learning Center have been formally inducted into the "Foundation" stage of Four Steps to Excellence 2.0.

Educational First Steps is a non-profit organization improving the quality and availability of early childhood education for economically disadvantaged children, by helping create nationally accredited early learning centers in neighborhoods that need them the most.
