Edifecs Launches First of a Series of Edifecs5010(TM) Migration Educational Webinars Addressing 5010 Migration Challenges, Opportunities and Solutions
Date:4/1/2009

BELLEVUE, Wash., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Edifecs announced today a series of educational webinars on HIPAA 5010 implementation issues that providers, payers, clearinghouses and other healthcare stakeholders will encounter during the mandated migration to the new standards. In these sessions, Edifecs will offer guidance and recommend solutions available in the release of Edifecs5010(TM) Migration -- a comprehensive set of products, online services, resources and Edifecs Client Services consulting, which incorporate a holistic approach to adopting and achieving compliance with the HIPAA 5010 & ICD-10 code set standards.

The webinar - Overview: What is a HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10 and What Does it Mean to Me? series begins on Tuesday, April 14, 11:00 AM - 12:00 NOON (PST) and will be held again on Friday, May 15, 11:00AM - 12:00 NOON (PST) and Tuesday, June 16, 11:00AM - 12:00 NOON (PST). If registrations exceed limitations on space availability, Edifecs will schedule additional sessions.

This webinar covers vital issues for consideration during a HIPAA 5010 transaction and ICD-10 code migration implementation. The session will focus on the crucial issues regarding deployments of 5010 transactions, leveraging Edifecs5010(TM) Migration product features for internal development and testing, external partner testing and run-time compliance validation. Additionally, Edifecs will cover how to use powerful performance monitoring and improvement capabilities to create a finely-tuned EDI transaction lifecycle in any healthcare organization. The series is aimed at Provider, Payer and Clearinghouse organizations.

The webinar will highlight the challenges faced by healthcare organizations and offer recommendations on how to step through the migration implementation with examples of how Edifecs5010(TM) products, services and resources can speed an organization's implementation of the new standards. Developed by the Edifecs Thought Leadership team, the educational webinar specifically addresses the healthcare community's significant migration questions when implementing the 5010 transaction standards and begins to assess the impacts of an ICD-10 deployment.

The webinar is timely, as the healthcare industry begins planning and development of IT and business rollout strategies around the impending HIPAA compliance deadlines of January 1, 2012 and October 1, 2013. Throughout the webinar, Edifecs will outline for their audience how to:

  • Gain insight into the new HIPAA regulatory requirements
  • Develop best practices to support regulatory compliance
  • Identify major business and technology impacts resulting from changes in the transactions and code set standards
  • Examine Trading Partners' issues and understand other Key Stakeholder challenges
  • Define how Edifecs5010(TM) Migration reduces deployment costs and achieves rapid, lower-risk 5010 migration and support ICD-10 conversion impact assessments

Webinar attendees will be given a chance to interact directly with the Edifecs Thought Leadership team through a live Q&A forum at the end of each session.
