Eclipsys Sunrise Acute Care Receives CCHIT Certification

Since it first announced certifications for ambulatory EHR software products in July of 2006, the Commission has raised the bar for ambulatory EHRs and expanded its certification scope to the inpatient care setting.

"We're very proud of achieving CCHIT certification for Sunrise Acute Care given the rigor of testing the Commission required in this first inpatient round," said Jay Deady, Eclipsys executive vice president, Client Solutions. "Unlike many of our competitors, Eclipsys clinical solutions have an integrated advanced rules engine and are all on the same integrated Eclipsys XA architecture. We believe this is vital to meet the increasingly challenging requirements of the Commission for both the acute and ambulatory environments."

The CCHIT Certified mark -- a "seal of approval" for EHR products -- provides the first consensus-based, government-recognized benchmark for inpatient EHR products. By looking to products with the CCHIT Certified seal, acute care providers can reduce their risk in selecting EHR products for CPOE and eMAR.
