Eating Disorders Take Center Stage at iaedp(TM) 2008 Symposium in Orlando, Florida

PEKIN, Ill., March 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Leading experts and distinguished faculty in Eating Disorders treatment will present cutting edge intervention, protocols and research to over 400 multi-disciplinary clinicians at the 2008 International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals Symposium (iaedp(TM)) (http://www.iaedp.com/) April 3-6 at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund will speak on Thursday at the iaedp(TM) Awards Banquet and Opening General Session about her experience and recovery from anorexia, as a young teen, which is the catalyst for her platform on eating disorder awareness. As a national spokesperson and advocate, Kirsten addresses diverse audiences, increasing awareness and promoting the importance of providing support for Children's Miracle Network and Raising Awareness of Eating Disorders.

On Friday, award-winning filmmaker, Darryl Roberts, will provide a private screening of his documentary film, America The Beautiful, followed by a discussion moderated by iaedp(TM) board member, Carolyn Costin, LMFT, CEDS and Wendy Oliver-Pyatt, MD.

Throughout the Symposium, the diverse faculty presentations will address many aspects of the complex process involved in helping people recover from life-threatening eating disorders.
