East Ridge to affiliate with senior living leader SantaFe HealthCare on
community improvements
MIAMI, April 3, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- East Ridge Retirement Village announced today a major project that will bring the most significant enhancements to the community since it was built in the mid-1960s, thanks to an affiliation with SantaFe HealthCare of Gainesville, a leader in health care services and senior living.
Planning for Phase 1, which includes a new state-of-the-art Health Center and upgraded facilities and dining venues for the entire campus, is underway and construction will begin as quickly as permitting and pre-construction activities allow. The Health Center will consist of new assisted living apartments, skilled nursing units, memory support apartments, therapy, wellness and other health related amenities.
Phase 2, which will add new apartment homes and additional community enhancements such as a spa, wellness and fitness programs, studio and events space and an auditorium, is scheduled to begin at the completion of Phase 1 in 2010.
The project adds 125 new apartment homes, replacing 30 of the 248 existing apartments on campus. Upon completion, the community will feature 343 independent living apartment homes and cottages, 60 new assisted living apartments, 16 new memory support apartments and 48 new skilled nursing units.
All skilled nursing units and memory support apartments will be provided in private rooms, and the assisted living apartments will be offered in one- and two-bedroom suites to accommodate couples.
Additionally, the project will include a refreshed entranceway to the community, maintain significant green spaces, add new landscaping and feature the beautiful center campus esplanade of lush local foliage.
"We're very excited about the future of our community and our
affiliation with SantaFe HealthCare, and what that means for residents and
employees," said Ga
