EaglePicher Medical Power Names Joseph Marotta Vice President of Sales and Marketing

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- EaglePicher Medical Power, a leading supplier of batteries to manufacturers of implantable medical devices, announced today that Joseph (Joe) Marotta has joined the company as vice president of sales and marketing.

In this position, Mr. Marotta will be responsible for the sales and marketing activities of EaglePicher Medical Power including customer development initiatives. EaglePicher's medical division has seen tremendous growth and innovation in the last year with the launch of the Micro Cell -- the world's smallest implantable battery - as well as its Lithium Thionyl chloride battery, which is the first implantable cell specifically for monitoring applications.

Mr. Marotta joins EaglePicher Medical Power with more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience. Most recently, he spent six years as vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at National Manufacturing Co, Inc., a global manufacturer of deep drawn component technology for medical, industrial, automotive, defense and electronic applications.

Prior to that, Mr. Marotta was vice president of sales and marketing at Wiedenbach Corporation. Previously, he spent ten years as national sales manager at Aeroquip Corp., a division of Eaton Corp.

Mr. Marotta holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and business management from the University of Arizona.
