Emergency Management

AUGUSTA, Ga., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- ESi(R), the global leader in crisis information management technology, today announced that Paul Crawford has joined the company as regional manager for the Northeast. Crawford is based in Boston, where he is responsible for ESi operations in Massachusetts and nine other states and U.S. territories -- New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Prior to joining ESi, Crawford served as the domestic preparedness planner and the manager for the State of Rhode Island Emergency Operations Center (SEOC). In this position, Crawford renovated the SEOC with new technological applications, including WebEOC(R), the first Web-enabled crisis information management system that provides cost-effective, real-time information sharing for ongoing operations or emergency situations. He also created a mobile command center for the agency and managed the distribution of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grants.

In his new role as regional manager, Crawford will work with the area's national and local emergency management agencies, along with law enforcement, public health organizations and universities, to help integrate the WebEOC suite.

"The Northeast is faced with all types of hazards both man-made and natural, including the events of 9/11 and some of the most significant snowfalls on record," said Nadia Butler, CEO of ESi. "I am confident that, with this additional support service, our current and future WebEOC users in this region will be even better equipped to coordinate emergency operations at all levels."

During his extensive career in Rhode Island, Crawford participated in both real-life and exercise emergency situations. He also established close working relationships with many public safety and emergency management officials within the region that will enable him to easily collaborate with the WebEOC community in the Northeast.

Crawford is a 30-year veteran of the emergency management community where his accomplishments include the Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP) Assessor and the Department of Homeland Security Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) certifications. Crawford is also a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM).
