EPIDEMICS(3) The Third International Conference on Infectious Disease Dynamics
Date:3/31/2011

We are pleased to announce that The Third International Conference on Infectious Disease Dynamics - EPIDEMICS3 - will take place in Boston, USA, in November 2011. Following the inaugural Epidemics1 Conference in Asilomar, USA in 2008, and the second conference Epidemics2 in Athens, Greece in 2009, both highly successful meetings with both more than 230 participants, the organizers are pleased to announce that The Third International Conference on Infectious Disease Dynamics EPIDEMICS3 will take place in Boston, USA, in November 2011.

We will convene to share another three days of intense dialogue on our ideas, data, insight, models and methods. Our invited speakers already reflect some of the breadth of what we hope to cover with talks on:

  • Infectious disease in conservation
  • The policy challenges to reducing the global burden of infection
  • The evolutionary response of pathogens to our interventions
  • Extracting information from the deluge of sequence data

EPIDEMICS3 is a wide-ranging conference that broadly deals with infectious disease dynamics; to include field and laboratory studies as well as modeling.

Abstracts are now being accepted in the following categories:

  • Dynamics of infectious diseases of humans
  • Dynamics of infectious diseases of livestock
  • Dynamics of infectious diseases of plants
  • Dynamics of infectious diseases of wildlife
  • Within-host dynamics and immuno-epidemiology
  • Ecology of infectious diseases
  • Evolution and natural selection in infectious diseases
  • Dynamics and consequences of resistance
  • Global and public health aspects of control and prevention
  • Global change in infectious diseases
  • Policy, economics, sociology and decision making
  • Uncertainty in decision making
  • Infectious disease surveillance
  • Statistical methods for infectious disease data
  • Social, spatial and network aspects of interaction
  • Epidemiological inference from host and pathogen genetics/genomics
