ENTRY DEADLINE APPROACHING: SAMMY Awards Scholarship Offers $7,500 for College
Date:2/2/2009

WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Calling all high school seniors -- there are only a few weeks left to apply for the 2009 Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) Awards and potentially take home a $7,500 scholarship for college.

This unique award, sponsored by the National Milk Mustache "got milk?(R)" Campaign in partnership with USA TODAY, educates teens on the importance of making smart choices -- like drinking lowfat milk, eating right and staying active. Twenty-five teens who excel in academics, athletics, community service and leadership will earn the $7,500 scholarship, attend an awards ceremony with celebrity guests at The Milk House at ESPN's Wide World of Sports and appear in their own Milk Mustache ad in USA TODAY.

It's as easy as drinking a glass of milk to apply:

-- Write a 75 word essay that includes how milk is important in your everyday life

-- Complete the online application at http://sammy.bodybymilk.com by March 6, 2009

Finalists will be named in June 2009. For complete contest rules and applications, log onto http://sammy.bodybymilk.com.
