Allows Consolidated Access to Interdisciplinary Evidence-based Content throughout the Clinical Workflow

(PRWEB) December 7, 2009 -- Institutions currently using point-of-care resources from EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO) and Zynx Health will benefit from a new agreement which gives healthcare providers integrated access to their evidence-based resources, resulting in quicker retrieval of relevant and current information and improved quality care. This expanded integration option offers consolidated access to current and consistent evidence-based information to all users in the clinical workflow.

In April 2009 an agreement was signed allowing mutual customers to access DynaMed™ clinical summaries via Zynx Health evidence pages. This new expanded agreement provides customers of ZynxOrder™, ZynxEvidence™ and ZynxCare™ with direct links to their EBSCO point-of-care resources, providing the convenience of a single point of entry to multiple evidence-based resources for a clinical topic. The additional evidence resources available through Zynx Health evidence pages include EBSCO’s DynaMed, Nursing Reference Center™, Rehabilitation Reference Center™, and Patient Education Reference Center™.

The integration of Zynx Health and EBSCO resources maximizes the impact of referential content by consolidating access to multiple evidence sources, providing relevant information to all users in the clinical workflow, including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Gregory Dorn, MD, MPH, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Zynx says EBSCO’s resources benefit healthcare providers and patients while improving care. “Hospitals using Zynx Health and EBSCO Publishing’s point-of-care resources are at a tremendous advantage to be able to seamlessly integrate the best of breed evidence-based solutions.”

EBSCO Publishing Medical Director, Brian Alper, MD, MSPH, the founder and editor-in-chief of DynaMed, says EBSCO and Zynx Health both adhere to a rigorous evidence-based methodology. “Hospitals rely on the latest evidence-based information to improve the quality and safety of care. The evidence-based resources from EBSCO Publishing are available in many hospitals using Zynx Health solutions. Allowing our customers to access their EBSCO content from within Zynx brings together essential elements of clinical decision support and supplements the Zynx resources that hospitals rely on.”
