Disaster Preparedness Event to be held on September 8, 2008
BURBANK, Calif., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- On September 8, 2008 the Joslyn Adult Center in Burbank will be hosting a Disaster Preparedness Event sponsored by the National Alliance For Healthy Communities (NAFHC) and the City of Burbank. The focus of this event is to educate older adults -- 55 years and over -- on how to look after yourself in an emergency. Participants will learn how to make a plan, assemble a disaster supplies kit, prepare an emergency food supply and more. Regal Medical Group is partnering with the City of Burbank and will be at the event educating these older adults on health related issues during a disaster.
The event will take place from 12:30pm until 2:00pm at the Joslyn Adult Center located at 1301 West Olive Ave in Bubank. Admission is free but reservations required and there will be gifts for the first 200 guests. Please RSVP to 818-238-5353.
The City of Burbank's Joslyn Adult Center is celebrating its 36th year of providing programs, services and opportunities for those 55 years and over.
