DrugRisk Announces Launch of DePuy Hip Resource Center
Date:4/9/2013

Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 09, 2013

The medical implant safety advocates at DrugRisk.com are announcing the launch of a new resource center for patients affected by the recall of the DePuy ASR and other metal hips. The site will contain the latest warnings, recalls, studies and litigation news.

DrugRisk was created to improve the safety of patients using popular drugs and medical devices. Visitors can learn if others are experiencing similar side effects and decide if they need legal advice.

The resource center contains warnings from the British Medical Journal* and FDA** that toxic metal shavings from all-metal hips like the DePuy ASR can cause serious conditions such as tissue damage, bone loss and damage to other organs when released into the body.

DePuy’s 2010 recall of their ASR metal hip indicated as many as 13% of patients may require revision surgery***. However, studies now show the rate could be as high as 44%****. Johnson & Johnson, who owns DePuy, now faces over 10,000 injury claims***.

Now, in the first of those cases to go to trial, a jury has awarded a California man $8.3 million for damages related to his defective DePuy hip***.

Anyone who received a DePuy metal hip is urged to contact the DrugRisk Hip Center or speak with a lawyer about their full legal rights.

Due to the specialized nature of federal medical device injury cases, DrugRisk only recommends lawyers and law firms who have already handled DePuy hip lawsuits.

For more information on the DePuy hip recall, studies and litigation news related to implant or other metal hips, or to speak with a lawyer, visit http://www.DrugRisk.com.
