Drug Rehab Center Sanford Brings Hope to Those Seeking Sobriety
Date:9/28/2013

Sanford, FL (PRWEB) September 28, 2013

Helping patients return to a life of sobriety is the goal of every responsible substance treatment center. Drug Rehab Center Sanford is taking this mission to another level. The facility is now offering a comprehensive life skills program to help assimilate recovering alcoholics back into society. Addiction counselor Brian S. is among the experienced and dedicated staff at Drug Rehab Center Sanford.

“Most drug and alcohol rehab facilities only focus on getting their patients sober.” Brian said. “But we believe in doing much more. We also want patients to adjust to living smoothly in every-day activities and give them the tools to deal with family and professional responsibilities.”

In many instances, recovering addicts are preoccupied with staying sober and find themselves overwhelmed when they re-enter the outside world. As pressures increase, many are tempted to return to drinking and end up relapsing back to their addiction.

“It’s an unfortunate situation,” Brian said. “Not many facilities have the resources devoted to returning patients to a post-sober lifestyle.”

Drug Rehab Center Sanford’s life skills program includes simulating real life situations. Patients are able to perform routine tasks from going shopping to doing household chores as well as simulating family and job situations. The response has been positive and more facilities are adopting the program.

“I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’ve seen a drop in relapse incidents since implementing the life skills curriculum,” Brian said. “It’s currently in its early stages and we want to eventually expand it further.”
