Date:3/6/2008

HOUSTON, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- SpectraCell Laboratories, Inc., announced that the company has added Dr. Wei Sun, PhD, MD to its scientific staff as Manager of Research & Development.

Dr. Sun comes to SpectraCell Laboratories from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He brings eight years of experience in the area of cellular and molecular biology research, as well as research experience within the areas of lymphocyte activation, lymphocyte subset analysis, apoptosis, and T-cell culture.

"Since our nutritional FIA(TM) testing is performed on lymphocytes, bringing in an MD, PhD whose primary experience is with lymphocyte function is a perfect fit for SpectraCell," states Dr. Fred Crawford, VP of Operations to whom Dr. Sun will report. "Having five PhDs and an MD on staff is just another example of our commitment to scientific excellence."

Due to the increasing number of doctors that understand the importance of functional nutritional testing in their practice, SpectraCell continues to grow. The company's number of employees has more than doubled since 2005 and SpectraCell now serves over 3,000 physician clients nationwide.

About SpectraCell Laboratories

SpectraCell is a CLIA accredited laboratory that services healthcare providers nationwide by providing advanced clinical testing with the patented FIA(TM) (Functional Intracellular Analysis) and LPP(TM) (Lipoprotein Particle Profile) tests.

SpectraCell's FIA(TM) testing is an innovative assessment of a patient's nutritional status. Unlike traditional serum, hair and urine tests, SpectraCell's FIA(TM) evaluates how an individual's white blood cells respond to varied environments of over 30 vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. As a result, individual differences in metabolism, age, genetics, health, prescription drug usage, absorption rate and other factors are taken into consideration in determining deficiencies that need to be corrected.
