Dr. Sachin Patel Partners with City CURE to Raise $3000 in a Pound-4-Pound Challenge Benefiting Whiz Kids
Date:4/20/2010

Proactive Performance Center and Dr. Sachin Patel has raised $2500 so far in a weight loss challenge, benefiting City CURE’s Whiz Kids program. Dr. Patel also teaches the secrets to permanent weight loss to those involved. The goal is to raise $3000. City CURE is a non-profit organization in Cincinnati whose goal is helping to “break the cycle of urban despair” one life at a time.

West Chester, OH (PRWEB) April 20, 2010 -- The challenge has begun to raise money for the Whiz Kids, one of several programs within City CURE. Whiz Kids equips the local church to serve at-risk children through one-to-one, literacy-based tutoring. Currently, there are 45 Whiz Kids tutoring sites serving over 1,100 children throughout Greater Cincinnati. Since its inception in 2005, more than 8000 children have benefited from this outreach.

In the Pound-for-Pound Challenge each person gathers sponsors to provide a charitable donation for each pound lost. Another aspect of the challenge encourages a personalized exercise and nutrition plan for customized weight loss. Free health lectures are held each Tuesday night, focusing on vital topics such as Secrets to Permanent Weight Loss, How Hormones Affect Weight Loss, How to Read Food Labels, and much more. The program lasts for 8 weeks and consists of 6 unique lecture topics.

Dr. Sachin Patel, DC at the Proactive Performance Center says this is a great way to reach out to the community, help raise money for a worthy organization and help people lose weight.

“Whiz Kids is such an outstanding organization and their mission is changing lives. If we can provide enough money for them to purchase books or keep their project going, it is a worthwhile contribution on our part. Plus, with the Pound-4-Pound Challenge, everyone involved wins in the end,” Dr. Patel said.
