Dr. Liza Solomon, HIV/AIDS Expert, Joins Abt Associates as Principal Associate in Company's Domestic Health Division

omon was deputy director of the Alliance for Microbicide Development, an international non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging the development of female-controlled HIV and STI preventive agents. Previously, she was a member of the faculty at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health where she managed large multisite epidemiologic studies of HIV infection in drug users and women. Earlier positions -- supervisor and physician assistant in several medical practices and clinics -- provided her with practical, ground-level healthcare services experience.

Dr. Solomon earned her Dr.P.H. and M.H.S. degrees from Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health; a B.S. degree (Physician Assistant Program) from the State University of New York at Stony Brook; and a B.A. from the University of Illinois, Chicago Circle Campus. In addition, she was a Certified Surgical Assistant, and Certified Physician Assistant.
