Dr. Kevin Nini to Lead Reconstructive Breast Surgery Program at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center

Plastic Surgery Arts of New Jersey (PSANJ) is proud to announce that Dr. Kevin Nini will be leading a new reconstructive breast surgery program at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center. Dr. Nini is a nationally recognized for his work in breast reconstruction, breast implants and other breast enhancement procedures.

(PRWEB) March 15, 2010 -- Plastic Surgery Arts of New Jersey (PSANJ) is proud to announce that Dr. Kevin Nini will be leading a new reconstructive breast surgery program at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center. Dr. Nini is part of a breast care team that includes oncologic surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists and a physician’s assistant.

“We determine the patient’s treatment plan before the surgery. I usually recommend a reconstructive plan that won’t interfere with the patient’s chemotherapy or radiation,” says Dr. Nini. “At Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, our interdisciplinary team approach to breast cancer care is tailored to the individual needs of each patient.”

Patients facing the prospect of mastectomy are understandably nervous and are often unsure of what to do next. Kevin T. Nini, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon who recently joined Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center advocates that the best time to perform breast reconstruction is immediately following a mastectomy. This makes the process easier and more comfortable for the patient.

“After a mastectomy, breast reconstruction takes place in multiple stages, but the first stage is the most complicated,” explains Dr. Nini. “It’s better for the patient to have this initial stage completed at the time of the mastectomy. She can wake up from surgery with a partially
