LOS ANGELES, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Mission Viejo general surgeon Juan Carlos Cobo, MD, F.A.C.S. is the newly-elected Chair of the Mutual Protection Trust (MPT) Board of Trustees. MPT is the medical professional liability provider for the Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc. (CAP). Dr. Cobo's election occurred at the organization's annual meeting June 18. He succeeds J. Michael Wormley, MD, a Glendora family practitioner who presided as chair since 1986. Dr. Wormley will continue to contribute to the MPT Board of Trustees as its first Chair Emeritus.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Cobo has been a CAP member since 1984. During this time, he has played an integral role in the growth of the organization, serving first on the CAP Board of Directors, then as an MPT Trustee.
