Dr. John O’Neil Simmonds | Joins Releford Medical Institute as Medical Director

PRP has been successfully used in orthopedics and sports medicine to treat joint and tendon pain, ankle sprains, heel pain, non-healing wounds, plantar fasciitis, poor circulation, diabetic neuropathy, and many other conditions, as cited in the Journal of Orthopaedic Research (Jan. 2006). Recently, PRP therapy has made headlines due to its successful use by professional athletes like Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, Alex Rodriguez, and Rafael Nadal.

About Dr. John O’Neil Simmonds, M.D.
Dr. John O’Neil Simmonds, M.D. completed his undergraduate studies at Howard University in Washington D.C., where he graduated with honors in Biology and Chemistry under the institution’s B.S./M.D. Accelerated Medical Education Program. He then received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine, where he graduated in the top of his class with honors. Dr. Simmonds completed a general surgery internship at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, then continued his training in orthopaedic surgery there and later at the Martin Luther King Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. Simmonds was in private practice for five years with an emphasis on the management of common and complex orthopaedic conditions through non-surgical methods. He wishes to provide the highest quality of medical care to the community, including all aspects of patient care with an emphasis on education, chiropractic, physical medicine, physical therapy, and rehabilitative treatments.
