MIAMI, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- James G. Schwade, M.D., executive director of CyberKnife Center of Miami, www.cyberknifemiami.com, announced the appointment of Dr. James Hevezi as Chief Physicist for the image guided robotic radiosurgery outpatient facility.
Dr. Hevezi will oversee the technical planning and delivery for the CyberKnife patient treatment operations. An independent practitioner of medical physics, he has practiced for 35 years and is a member of the American College of Radiology Board of Chancellors and serves as Chair of the ACR Medical Physics Commission. Previously, he served as Director of Medical Physics at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio from 1991- 2005, where he introduced IMRT, Radiosurgical techniques and HDR and LDR Brachytherapy techniques.
Hevezi is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). He serves in leadership positions in the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) and AAPM.
