Edina, MN (PRWEB) May 14, 2013

Renowned facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Peter Hilger was honored to co-direct the Advances in Rhinoplasty course held in Chicago, IL on May 8-11, 2013. Sponsored by the Educational and Research Foundation of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), the Advances in Rhinoplasty course is the longest running rhinoplasty course series in the world. This year’s course provided a world-class learning experience in rhinoplasty fundamentals including recent advances, new surgical techniques and practice management, along with an expanded faculty.

The four-day course in advanced rhinoplasty is recommended for continuing medical education students and/or practicing physicians in the field of facial plastic surgery. Such topics covered included rhinoplasty basics, grafting methods, surgical approaches, structural refinement/augmentation, surgical instruments, functional rhinoplasty, ethnic rhinoplasty, child rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, challenges, controversies, complications and prevention, and more. Dr. Hilger co-presented the Welcome message, served as moderator, and discussed such topics as practice management and the flaccid lower lateral cartilages. It was an excellent opportunity for Dr. Hilger to showcase his expertise in rhinoplasty.
