Dr. Gary Stein, SRO Orthopedic Surgeon, Discusses the Latest Advances and Treatments of Joint Pain

Dr. Gary Stein is part of an elite team of Santa Rosa Orthopaedic (SRO) surgeons and has over twenty years in private practice. Dr. Stein has pioneered innovative techniques in hip and knee replacement surgery and has recorded his advances in orthopedic surgery publications including Orthopaedics and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

Dr. Stein has extensively studied the field of hip replacement techniques. His medical training included the privilege of working with three leading orthopedic surgeons who have forged advances in minimally invasive surgery (MIS). He learned the 2-incision approach to hip incision under Dr. Richard Berger, a MIT mechanical engineer, who invented an innovative design of specialized instruments, which allowed orthopedic surgery to be done less invasively than previously. Dr. Stein continues to be involved with advanced orthopedic procedures and has relieved thousands of patients from joint pain through the least invasive procedures possible.

For many, joint pain is experienced by a deep-seated ache within the joints, unlike that of a muscular ache; since the causes vary, the pain experienced can differ from person to person. Yet, with recent medical and surgical advances joint pain is no longer something patients must suffer with. Depending on the cause of the joint pain and how severe the level of pain, there are numerous surgical and non-surgical solutions.

Joint pain can result from various untreated injuries including sports injuries, excessive weight gain, arthritis or an infection in the joint. However, most joint pain results from torn cartilage, sprains and dislocations and these can
