Dorsey Schools, Detroit Area's Preeminent Career Training School, Opens a Fifth Campus in Farmin...( MADISON HEIGHTS Mich. Jan. 22 /- ...),Health

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- On February 18, Dorsey Schools will open its fifth career training school at 33045 Hamilton Court, Farmington Hills, Michigan. The Farmington Hills facility has the capacity for 250 students in an intimate, small campus, community-style setting. This approximately 7,500 square-foot campus will focus on an allied health curriculum offering morning, afternoon and evening classes in medical assisting and patient care technician fields.

Dorsey Schools, founded in Detroit in 1934, is one of the area's oldest postsecondary career training institutions offering business, computer, legal and healthcare curriculum. There are currently 1,000 students enrolled in Dorsey's four campuses located in Madison Heights, Roseville, Southgate and Wayne Westland, with approximately 160 full- and part-time employees.

Fischer has been with Dorsey Schools since 1993 and was senior vice president prior to being named president in December 2005. She is credited with instituting the school's highly successful medical assistant program in 1995 as well as the patient care technician program in 2003. Fischer is a commissioner with the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools and on the board of the Michigan Association of Career Schools.
