Date:6/18/2010

The Dorland Health People Awards program honors excellence and dedication among healthcare professionals. This awards program salutes the individual health care professionals who inspire, motivate and empower members of the healthcare team and the patients and family members they serve in every sector of the healthcare industry. The awards program culminates with a ceremony at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on October 4, where the award winners will be announced amid a banquet and celebration. Additionally, all winners and honorable mentions will be featured in a special issue of Case In Point magazine and on DorlandHealth.com.

(PRWEB) June 18, 2010 -- The healthcare workforce is made up of talented individuals from various professional disciplines who work collaboratively to standardize care, ensure care is individualized and evidence-based, and transition patients across the continuum of care in a safe, appropriate and effective way. The Dorland Health People Awards http://www.dorlandhealth.com/peopleawards seek to honor the individual health care professionals who make up the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Those who work in-the-trenches as well as supervisors, directors and in leadership roles.

The People Awards will recognize professionals who share their knowledge and skills to address challenges and meet the needs of their team, their patients and patients' families. From the payer side to the provider side to those who work as independent practitioners, the broad scope of award categories provides an opportunity for all professionals to highlight the important work they do. Our newly added category “Workplace Best of Show” will honor the organization with the most individual finalists. In this category, we seek to commend an organization's commitment
