The healthcare workforce is made up of talented individuals from various professional disciplines who work collaboratively to standardize care, ensure care is individualized and evidence-based, and transition patients across the continuum of care in a safe, appropriate and effective way.

The Dorland Health People Awards http://www.dorlandhealth.com/peopleawards seek to honor the individual health care professionals who make up the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Those who work in-the-trenches as well as supervisors, directors and in leadership roles. The People Awards will recognize professionals who share their knowledge and skills to address challenges and meet the needs of their team, their patients and patients' families. From the payer side to the provider side to those who work as independent practitioners, the broad scope of award categories provides an opportunity for all professionals to highlight the important work they do.

"The Dorland Health People Awards serve as an important step toward increasing the recognition of individual health care professionals who works diligently to improve care to the patient, their organization, the community, and the health care industry as a whole," says Anne Llewellyn, chairwoman of the People Awards and editor in chief of Dorland Health, which includes premier brands such as Case in Point magazine and eletter, dorlandhealth.com and leading directories such as CMRG and CYFS.
The Dorland Health People Awards finalists will be recognized at an awards luncheon on October 4, 2010, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The award winners will be announced during the program and all finalists will be profiles on dorlandhealth.com and in the October/November 2010 issue of Case In Point magazine, a national publication promoting care coordination across the continuum of care.
