Frozen Fruit Maker Introduces New Blends That Tout Nutrition and Health

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- A blast of nutrition in every bite! Dole Packaged Foods, LLC today announces the introduction of DOLE(R) Wildly Nutritious(TM) Signature Blends-unique combinations of all-natural frozen fruit specifically formulated with health and nutrition top-of-mind. Highlighting selections enriched with antioxidants and immunity health components, DOLE Wildly Nutritious Signature Blends incorporate nutritional research findings and create combinations that appeal to the palate, and the heart.

DOLE Wildly Nutritious Signature Blends are available in three unique varieties: Mixed Berry Antioxidant Blend, Heart Healthy Mixed Fruit and Immunity Blend Tropical Fruit. The Antioxidant Blend features a colorful combination of the finest berries, including strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and Marion blackberries. When combined, these berries provide double the industry standard level of antioxidants, an essential ingredient geared to help neutralize free radicals and stimulate the body's own detoxification system. The Heart Healthy Blend features a sweet blend of strawberries, pineapple, mango, peaches and honeydew packed with essential vitamins and nutrients including vitamin C, fiber and potassium that help maintain a healthy heart. The Immunity Blend offers a refreshing and unique tropical twist with pineapple, mango, strawberries, papaya and golden kiwi enriched with vitamin A and vitamin C that help maintain a healthy immune system. Together, these three new additions to the DOLE frozen-fruit portfolio compliment the brand's already existing suite of colorful antioxidant-rich berries and tropical blends.

As with all DOLE frozen fruit, DOLE Wildly Nutritious Signature Blends contain 100% natural fruit that is individually flash frozen at its peak of ripeness. They are washed and ready to eat with the natural goodness and nutrition benefits of fresh fruit.

"Today's consumers seek healthy-eating solutions that are easily obtained," says Javier Idrovo, President of DOLE Packaged Foods. "Frozen fruit is a perfect choice for busy, on-the-go American families looking for great tasting, nutritious food. DOLE Wildly Nutritious Signature Blends deliver on the promise of bringing healthy, convenient options to supermarket freezer aisles."

According to Paul Panza, Dole Packaged Foods Senior Business Manager for Frozen Fruit, combining frozen fruits into blends for unique, targeted nutrition benefits is an innovative idea for the frozen fruit case. "Frozen produce is getting more attention as government and private organizations heat up their efforts to encourage Americans to eat more fruits and vegetables. Dole has taken on this hot-issue by embracing it with the formulation of frozen fruit blends that make sense. Each individual fruit has its own compelling nutrition story, but when combined into specific blends, they become nutrition powerhouses. Whether you're trying to boost your immune system, increase antioxidant levels or include heart-healthy foods in your diet, DOLE Wildly Nutritious Signature Blends help consumers meet their daily fruit nutrition goals."

DOLE Wildly Nutritious Signature Blends are available in the freezer aisle at supermarkets nationwide with an MSRP of $2.89 to $3.29.
