Doctors Join Patients to Protest at Health Care Freedom Tea Parties July 17; Thousands Join in Nationwide Event
Date:7/16/2009

WASHINGTON, July 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- "We'll quit before we practice government medicine" will be the message of thousands of doctors at Health Care Freedom Tea Parties on July 17.

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons is joining the Tea Party Patriots to co-sponsor the protests at the local home office of each Congressman and Senator to make it absolutely clear that doctors and patients oppose government run medicine.

Taxpayers will gather simultaneously across the country from Noon to 1:00 PM Eastern / 9:00 to 10:00 AM Pacific.

The "Take Back Medicine" petition will also be circulated for doctors to sign. Thousands have already signed on to this message to the President and Congress, which begins:

"Physicians can no longer allow medical care in this country to be controlled by government and insurance companies.

"Current reform options purport be "cure-alls" for every American. But we know that every patient is different, and just like patients, there is no single big-government solution to change health care in this country. . .."

The petition and physician stories are available at www.TakeBackMedicine.com.
