Disc Motion Technologies Appoints Industry Veteran as New CEO
Date:5/27/2008

BOCA RATON, Fla., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Disc Motion Technologies announced that the company has appointed Andrew Paul Greenberg as the new CEO.

Mr. Greenberg has been a dedicated and talented leader in the industry for more than 20 years," said Manoj Krishna, FRCS, Disc Motion Co-Founder. "His leadership skills and commitment are evident to all who meet him. He was the unanimous choice of both the search committee and the full board of trustees. We are delighted to have him on board."

Mr. Greenberg brings to Disc Motion Technologies an extensive background in the orthopaedic and spine industries as well as executive leadership in various roles. He has a proven track record of success with several executive level positions, including Managing Director of Link America, Inc, DBA Link Orthopaedics and Managing Director and Secretary of Link Bio Corp, the successor company to Link Orthopaedics.

In these roles he has been responsible for the development and IDE studies for the Charite Disc, the Cervitech Disc and the Star Ankle. Very few spine industry executives have his depth of experience. The Charite Disc was sold to DepuySpine for more than $400m.

"The position of Chief Executive Officer of Disc Motion Technologies is an outstanding opportunity to lead a company with a promising future," said Mr. Greenberg. "I look forward to advancing our devices into the market to deliver innovative and effective products to patients."

Mr. Greenberg's prior experience includes a position as Director and Chief Financial Officer for Link Spine Group Inc. and Co-Chief Executive Officer for the Surgical Design Corp.

The company's former CEO, Jud Carlson, will remain with Disc Motion Technologies as Managing Director.

Disc Motion Technologies was established in 2003 with the development of the first posterior lumbar-spine joint replacement system featuring a posterior artificial disc and a posterior dynamic stabilization device. The True Total Spinal Motion Segment System (TSMS(TM)) was developed by Tai Friesem, MD and Manoj Krishna, FRCS to address the full surgical control of the degenerative spinal cascade by supporting normal, angular, physiological motion and allowing the surgeon to treat the total degeneration in the lumbar spine.

Disc Motion Technologies will generate revenues from three spinal implant markets -- total disc replacement, posterior dynamic stabilization and lumbar fusion.

Disc Motion Technologies' True TSMS(TM) will be launched at the end of May at EuroSpine's Spine Week meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
