Disability Community Humble Beginnings Lead to Great Things at Disabled World
Date:2/23/2009

Disabled World, an online disability community for the disabled, and people with health problems, celebrates five years of serving people with disabilities.

Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) February 23, 2009 -- Disabled World, an online disability community for the disabled, and people with health problems, celebrates five years of serving people with disabilities.

The Disabled World website, managed from a home basement in Montreal Canada by husband and wife team Lynn and Ian Langtree, was launched in 2004 with the intention of providing a very much needed International Online Disability Community for persons with disabilities.

Since Disabled World's humble beginnings five years ago many new and exciting changes have taken place. New sections devoted to disability travel, fitness and nutrition, and entertainment have been incorporated into what is now recognized as the premium online source for disability information.

Ian from Disabled World stated he is very happy with the growth and recent expansion of Disabled World. "Over the last five years Disabled World has grown from a disability community with several thousand of visitors a month, to well over a million and a half unique visits a month. Our new Disability Community section, where members can interact in a social networking environment, is seeing new members constantly joining."

"There are many other new and exciting ideas for expansion we will be incorporating into the Disabled World Disability Community in the coming months. We have only just touched the surface of what Disabled World will be offering both visitors seeking information, and our members, in the future." Ian said.

Disabled World is rated as a Family Friendly Site. It is also an Associate Member of The Internet Content Rating Association (IRCA), which is an independent, non-profit organization whose main goal is to empower parents to protect their children from potentially harmful content on the Internet.

Today the realm of disability information on the Internet is large and growing. While there are sites on the Internet that provide information related to people with disabilities, few of them have the vast variety of information, disability community news, disabled dating information , and the ability to share thoughts and feelings with others that is provided by Disabled World. The very depth of involvement and level of information to be found at Disabled-World.com is highly impressive, and the demeanor of caring and personal interest in the people makes the Disabled World Disability Community a truly unique web site.
