WAKE FOREST, N.C., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Healthcare, a Wake Forest, NC company specializing in retinal risk assessment for diabetics, announced today that Suber S. Huang, MD, MBA has been named Medical Director for Ophthalmology. Dr. Huang will provide the company expert advice and counsel regarding product development and development.

Dr. Huang is the Philip F. and Elizabeth G. Searle-Suber Huang, MD, Professor and Vice Chairman in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, University Hospitals Case Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio. He is the Director of Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery, the Director of Clinical Research, and the Director of the Retinal Diseases Image Analysis Reading Center (REDIARC). Dr. Huang serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the American Society of Retina Specialists, the world's largest organization of retinal specialists. Dr. Huang is the Director of the Diabetic Eye Disease Committee of the National Eye Health Education Program and the serves on the Ophthalmic Technology Assessment Committee (OTAC)-Retina/Vitreous Panel and on the Research, Regulatory, and External Scientific Relations Committee, both committees associated with the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
