Dienst Custom Homes Grants Over 40 'Wishes' in Three Years

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- After the success of the third annual Dienst Custom Homes Wish House Gala, Dienst Custom Homes and the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R) of Central and Western North Carolina have partnered to grant over 40 wishes to date for Charlotte-area children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Gala, held on September 21, 2007, at a Dienst custom home in the SouthPark community of Foxcroft, helped grant approximately 17 wishes, surpassing last year's total of 15 and the previous year's total of 12. The average cost of a wish is $6,000.

The 2007 Wish House Gala was an especially emotional event. Matthew, a local child who was the recipient of one of the wishes granted by the local chapter of the foundation, gave a touching testimonial about the hope Dienst Custom Homes and the Make-A-Wish Foundation had brought into his life. His heart-felt tribute left many in tears, as it gave them a first-hand account of the difference their donations were making in the lives of children in their own community.

With over 200 children currently on the local Make-A-Wish Foundation's wish list, Dienst Custom Homes has pledged to pool their resources to continue to lower that number in the years to follow. "Our continued partnership with Dienst Custom Homes has been a huge success, especially considering the amount of wishes their Wish House Gala has helped us grant in only three years," said Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Western North Carolina Chairman of the Board of Directors Kelli Breaux. "They've introduced us to architects, contractors, and trade vendors -- an industry we had yet to form relationships with. We are so thankful for everything they've done for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and everything they continue to do."
