Desalination, The Game Has Now Changed, MDU and Water Enabled Technologies.
Date:3/13/2010

A new game changing technology. Modular Desalination Unit (MDU), will mean affordable water for the masses. This technology provides fresh water at a fraction of the cost of existing technologies, which means a fraction of the energy currently required, and will provide at a fraction of the current costs for the capital outlay required for infrastructure.

(PRWEB) March 13, 2010 -- Water is essential to all life worldwide. Unfortunately, 1.1 billion worldwide don’t have access to clean water. Currently 1.6 million people die each year because of unsafe water supplies and a 2004 WHO report indicates that 135 million more could die from water related diseases by 2020.

The world’s water supply is 97% salt. There are certainly technologies available to extract fresh water from our oceans; the problem is that the cost of this process is too expensive. This desalinated water is not available to the masses because the average cost per thousand gallons of desalinated water is thousands of watts of energy – way out of reach for the masses. The major component of the cost per gallon is determined by the energy required for the desalination process.

A new game changing technology, Modular Desalination Unit (MDU), will mean affordable water for the masses. This totally new technology provides fresh water at a fraction of the cost of existing technologies, which means a fraction of the energy currently required, and will provide at a fraction of the current costs for the capital outlay required for infrastructure.

The danger of running out of fresh water is real. Droughts leaving hundreds of millions without drinking and irrigation water; increased population placing heavier burdens on the worlds aquifers; third world poverty unable to fund expensive desalination plants; and world economic problems eliminating fresh water projects because of the high costs for desalination, are just some of the hard realities of life in this global water crisis.

Water Enabled Technologies (WET) (go to waterena.com) has developed the next generation for desalination. Soon the world will get a look at MDU, the new game changer. This new patent pending technology, with its accompanying operational data and University trials provides a fresh approach to an age old problem, providing inexpensive and abundant fresh water for the population of the world.

The fresh water crisis is global and Water Enabled Technologies is prepared to lead the way in the battle to defeat this world water crisis. Join us.
