MEDILINQ Expands Its Offerings by Adding Dental to Medical Benefits

HOUSTON, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- MEDILINQ, Inc., a nationwide health benefits provider that offers uninsured or partially insured consumers and business owners substantial savings on healthcare, today announced the formation of its latest partnership with DenteMax. Based in Southfield, MI, DenteMax is one of the nation's largest independent dental PPO networks with more than 79,000 dentist access points serving over 4.5 million members.

As reported by the National Coalition on Health Care, nearly 47 million Americans, or 16 percent of the population, were without health insurance in 2005. Nearly half of all Americans have no dental coverage, according to the American Dental Association.

According to John D. Chandler, DDS, MAGD, past president and Academy of General Dentistry spokesperson, "Research shows more than 90 percent of all systemic disease[s] - including heart disease - have oral symptoms." These oral symptoms can be detected during regular dental exams. "Visiting the dentist twice a year is an important investment in one's oral as well as overall health," added Chandler.

Rick Doub, MEDILINQ's Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, adds, "With such a strong link between oral health and overall health, adding dental benefits to our established health benefits solution (the MEDILINQ Health-e Consumer Plan) was a natural fit. By adding DenteMax to our partner mix, MEDILINQ members now have access to dental care at savings of up to 40%," added Doub.
