Date:5/5/2008

TEAMS Award Will Provide Deloitte the Opportunity to Respond to Specific Solicitations Generated by the Military Health System

WASHINGTON, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Deloitte has been awarded the opportunity to contract with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Military Health System (MHS) to provide strategy, operations and technology consulting support.

The TRICARE Evaluation, Analysis and Management Support (TEAMS) contract is a multiple-award vehicle and one of the largest federal government Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract opportunities Deloitte has secured.

"Deloitte was awarded this opportunity because of our specific blend of commercial health care and federal client service experience, our broad portfolio of methodologies and consulting capabilities, and demonstrated capacity to quickly mobilize and deploy the right teams of experienced professionals at the right time to help DoD address their needs," said Gregory Scott, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP and MHS Account Lead.

TRICARE is DoD's health care program for members of the uniformed services, their families and survivors. TEAMS is a contract vehicle designed to support management of TRICARE's health care programs that will allow Deloitte the opportunity to respond to specific solicitations or task orders generated by MHS. The scope of task orders and solicitations is expected to include such areas as: policy development, program strategy, technology strategy, clinical redesign, hospital operations, managed care contracting, pharmacy management and business process improvement.

Deloitte currently provides services to many of the agencies in the federal health field, including several of the divisions of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health, as well as the
